Our History

The Iowa Wind Energy Association was incorporated January 1, 2008 as a 501 (c) 6 non-profit corporation with the intent of supporting the growth of the wind industry in Iowa. An initial 15 member Board of Directors was established to guide IWEA’s growth and development.

IWEA supports wind energy projects in Iowa and the economic development and job creation that results from these projects. IWEA also advocates for pro-wind legislation and actions across the state.
