The Power OF WE – Midwest Technical Conference 2017
Dates: Wednesday October 25th and Thursday October 26th, 2017. There will be a welcome reception from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday the 24th. Location: Iowa Lakes Community College, Estherville, Iowa. This is the second year for this annual wind technician conference. Once again IWEA and Iowa Lakes Community College are co-hosting the event. Since we received much interest from outside the state last year, we have added “Midwest” to the conference name to ensure people outside of Iowa know they are welcome. We are inviting people throughout the region. Whether you are close to Iowa in states like Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois or are further afield in Oklahoma, Colorado, Ohio, or Texas, you are welcome to attend. This technical conference targets those individuals who operate, maintain and repair wind turbines and those in a direct supervisory role or managerial role. These participants are expert end users of products and services which are employed in the wind industry. The event provides a great opportunity to gain “field perspectives” on needs and use cases of tools and equipment for operating and maintaining wind turbines. Whether you have years of experience, or are just starting out, we welcome you. The conference is held at one of the premier technician training facilities, Iowa Lakes Community College, located in Estherville Iowa. Iowa Wind Energy Association and Iowa Lakes Community College, welcomes industry partners to participate. If your company is interested in becoming a sponsor or presenting, register here. If you plan to attend, please consider also attending the Wind Warrior Competition, where technicians compete in core competencies and skill exercises.
